There is nothing so special as sisters who are best friends.

For example, these lovelies:

aren’t they SO cute?!My sweet friend Elizabeth wanted to celebrate her friendship with her sister with a painting. And how sweet was it that she asked me to do it! :) Thanks friend! It means a lot that you’d ask!!

So this is what it looked like to start. YES. You’ve seen it before. Back when i made that other random painting and failed to get anywhere on this one for a while.

Then i rotated it.

inspired!

…and added a pencil sketch…{and it looks funny because i realized i wanted to take pictures of the process as i started the second step of adding the skin tones.}

We have faces people! :)

and color on the background!

i love how the color is semi-transparent so you can still see the collage elements in the background. And of course, I started to add detail to the girlies. {But i forgot to take more in-between steps pictures… oops. fail.}

i added some vintage sheet music around the edges.

some stamps and some distressing…always gives it a little more character and depth :)

the hanging-on-the-wall-photo version

the hanging-on-the-wall-next-to-other-artwork version.

Seeing it here, i am just now wondering if i should add the stamped words “& best friends” next to the sisters words? i don’t know why i didn’t think of it before. what do you think?

the scanned-in version. {apparently i felt like i could make up for lack of process pictures with my way too many finished versions.}

so… what do you think sweet friend(s)? :) do you like it?? should i add those extra words? or leave it simple?
