we had quite an adventure this last weekend… as many of you know…

we drove 2 hours north/west and this is where we landed:

check out our hotel…um. wow.

this is the view from lookout tower on top.

all of the chimneys are so cool!

so pretty.

and i love the gambrel  roof! {apparently i’m a little infatuated with the architecture… it’s most of my pictures!}

we took a little walk around the lake one day. it was a little cold… wouldn’t you say 17 degrees, not including wind chill, is just a little chilly?

oh, and i guess we kept busy with the little thing that brought us there…a marriage conference called  Weekend To Remember.  {the picture above was taken at a break-but believe me, it was a full house!}

Dear anyone who’s married; I highly recommend one of these conferences for your marriage!!! They’re all over the country. Almost every weekend of the year.  It’s such a sweet opportunity for you and your spouse to be intentional and to have a weekend to yourselves, learning from wise speakers, being encouraged with where you are and where you want to go, if you’re a pastor or a seminary student you get a discount, you get to stay at a nice hotel, you get to talk with your mate the entire time… i could go on and on about it!

Consequently, this was our second time going! We loved it so much the first time, when some dear old friends bought us tickets during our first year of marriage, that we wanted to go again! It also helped that one of our New Year’s Resolutions was to visit the Poconos! :) Coincidence? I think not!

{a self portrait}

one of the nights our “assignment” was to go on a romantic date.

so this is just me passing the time on the way there… :) being a little silly with the Husbuddy.

it was such a beautiful weekend! in so many ways! Maybe if I can get the millions of thoughts that are swimming around in my head, put together, I’ll try to share a little bit more from the inspiring conference. But for now, here’s a quote:

“There are lots of things you can do with sand; but do not try building a house on it.” -C.S. Lewis

there’s me and husbuddy being all cute and mushy. :) what a great weekend for that!

i LOVE that my husbuddy was a genius and had the courage to take a leading role in our marriage, to suggest that we spend some time working on it-{even though we’re doing ok!} just to learn how to better love each other. oh man, he’s just the best! ok, so i’m bragging about him a little bit… but he has earned a few bragging points ;) hee hee. Love ya babe!

oh, and i guess i’ll leave you with this little sign we saw on our drive home:

{HA!} dear anyone who lives there; i’m sorry for making fun of your town! but… why in the world is it named THAT?
